Honourable judges, ladies and gentlemen,

Good afternoon! Today I would like to talk about the importance of keeping optimistic。 When we encounter difficulties in life, we notice that some of us choose to bury their heads in the sand。 Unfortunately, however, this attitude will do you no good, because if you will have no courage even to face them, how can you conquer them? Thus, be optimistic, ladies and gentlemen, as it can give you confidence and help you see yourself through the hard times, just as Winston Churchill once said, “An optimist sees an opportunity in every calamity; a pessimist sees a calamity in every opportunity。”

Ladies and Gentlemen, keeping optimistic, you will be able to realize, in spite of some hardship, there’s always hope waiting for you, which will lead you to the ultimate success。 Historically as well as currently, there are too many optimists of this kind to enumerate。 You see, Thomas Edison is optimistic; if not, the light of hope in his heart could not illuminate the whole world。 Alfred Nobel is optimistic; if not, the explosives and the prestigious Nobel Prize would not have e into being。 And Lance Armstrong is also optimistic; if not, the devil of cancer would have devoured his life and the world would not see a 5-time winner of the Tour De France。

A rose may be beautiful, or maybe not; that depends on your attitude only, and so does success, so does life。 Hindrances and difficulties do exist, but if you are optimistic, then they are only episodes on your long way to the throne of success; they are more bridges than obstacles! Now I prefer to end my speech with the great British poet Shelley’s lines: “If winter es, can spring be far behind?” Thank you!

Good morning/afternoon! Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls!

I’m very glad to make a speech here. The topic of my speech is "be a civilized, courteous person."

Since the day I was born, I began to have a proud name—Chinese! Since the day I began to talk, the most beautiful sentence I’ve ever learnt has been “I love you, China!”

We all know that China is one of the four ancient civilizations in human history, is a vast territory and abundant resources, a long history of a state of ceremonies. Five thousand years of development of the Chinese nation, inherited many traditions and virtues from generation to generation.

Good manners are so important in our society. Each of us was still babbling, Our parents education how we treat people politely, When we enter the school, the teacher teaches us how to speak civilized and moral, it can be said that each of us knows how to be a civilized person. However, I would like to ask you: as a student in the new century, how will you show our elegant demeanor? How to make our school image better? How to let the distant guests feel the new appearance of us ?

Everyone should be polite. Polite people show good manners. As a new century pupil, as the flower of our motherland and the future of the world, we must be a civilized pupil! But how can we be a civilized pupil? Meet teachers and guests take the initiative to say hello; on the stairs, crowded, pay attention to humility; pay attention to health, not littering, see the paper always picked up; take good care of public property, do not write scratch; with the students, can live together in peace together, friendship and cooperation. To be wrong, to apologize, to respect and trust each other. At home, filial piety, considerate parents, respect the elders. In the face of their elders to listen to criticism, temper, do not contradict. The guests came home warmly, generously and politely. On the outside, obey the traffic laws, don't throw confetti, protect the environment sanitation; help others, always for the sake of others, do good, the hearts of others".

" A smile, say "hello", a "please", a "sorry", a "thank you" or" You are welcome" can make people open the window to the soul, They can make a difference. to exchange, to understand each other. a person is ordinary, insignificant, but everyone raised the banner of civilization, you can let the civilization of the new wind blowing across the land of china. Please start with each "little me", because society is like an ocean, and each of us is a small drop of water into the ocean. Please bring my song back to your home, please leave your smile behind. Let us work together to study, With our excellent performance, excellent work by our great motherland.

  Thank you for your listening!

Today is Saturday, I don’t need to go to school, so I decided to take somemorning exercises. Early in the morning, I went out of the house and lookedaround, the city was so quiet. With few cars, the air was fresh, I felt socomfortable. Besides the people who took the morning exercise, I found somepeople who worn the orange uniform, they were working. This was the first timefor me to see the cleaners work in the morning, they were easily neglected, because they worked so early and when the time for people to go to work, cleaners rested.

Watching these cleaners working, I feel so thankful for them, they were doing the greatest job. People praised them as the city’s dressers, they kept the city clean all the time and brought comfort to people.

They arethe respectable people, we should applause for them.

good morning, ladies and gentlemen:

today i’m very happy to be here to share with you some of my thoughts on the topic of globalization.and first of all, i would like to mention an event in our recent history.

thirty years ago, american president richard nixon made an epoch-making visit to china, a country still isolated at that time.premier zhou enlai said to him, “your

handshake came over the vastest ocean in the world - twenty-five years of no communication.” ever since then, china and america have exchanged many handshakes of various kinds.the fundamental implication of this example is that the need and desire to communicate acro differences in culture and ideology is not only felt by the two countries but by many other nations as well.

as we can see today, environmentalists from different countries are making joint efforts to addre the iue of global warming, economists are seeking solutions to financial crises that rage in a particular region but nonethele cripple the world’s economy, and diplomats and politicians are getting together to discu the iue of combating terrorism.peace and prosperity has become a common goal that we are striving for all over the world.underlying this mighty trend of globalization is the echo of e.m.forster’s words, “only connect!”

with the it revolution taking place, traditional boundaries of human society fall away.our culture, politics, society and commerce are being sloshed into a large melting pot of humanity.in this interlinked world, there are no outsiders, for a disturbance in one place is likely to impact other parts of the globe.we have begun to realize that a world divided cannot endure.

china is now actively integrating into the world.our recent entry to the wto is a good example.for decades, we have taken pride in being self-reliant, but now we realize the importance of participating in and contributing to a broader economic order.from the precarious role in the world arena to our present wto membership, we have come a long way.

but what does the way ahead look like? in some parts of the world people are demonstrating against globalization.are they justified then, in criticizing the globalizing world? instead of narrowing the gap between the rich and the poor, they say, globalization enables developed nations to swallow the developing nations’ wealth in debts and interest.globalization, they argue, should be about an earnest interest in every other nation’s economic health.

we are reminded by karl marx that capital goes beyond national borders and eludes control from any other entity.this has become a reality.multinational corporations are seeking the lowest cost, the largest market, and the most favorable policy.they are often powerful lobbyists in government decision-making, ruthle expansionists in the global market place and a devastating presence to local businees.

for china, still more challenges exist.how are we going to ensure a smooth transition from the planned economy to a market-based one? how to construct a legal system that is sound enough and broad enough to respond to the needs of a dynamic society? how to maintain our cultural identity in an increasingly homogeneous world? and how to define greatne in our rise as a peace-loving nation? globalization entails questions that concern us all.

like many young people my age in china, i want to see my country get prosperous and enjoying respect in the international community.but it seems to me that mere patriotism is not just enough.it is vitally important that we young people do more serious thinking and broaden our mind to bigger iues.and, there might never be easy answers to those iues such as globalization, but to take them on and

give them honest thinking is the first step to be prepared for both opportunities and challenges coming our way.and this is also one of the thoughts that came to me while preparing this speech.thank you.

Wake up everybody!Time is passing us by!Time and tide wait for no man.

Thats my message today.Live your life to the fullest.Live each day as if it were your last! Seize the day!Seize the moment!Let me tell you about carpe diem.

First, carpe diem means seize the day.Its an ancient Latin term.It encourages us to be bold and progressive.

i embrace this philosophy.I suggest that you do too.It will make your life truly extraordinary.

Carpe diem is an empowering idea. Its very potent advice. It inspires me to take action every day.

Second, carpe diem means time is a precious gift. You only live once. You cant take it for granted.

Life is not a dress rehearsal.Life seldom gives you a second chance.Carpe diem reminds you not to procrastinate.

Be open to risk and chanllengs.Be open to new opportunities.Make each day an exciting adventure.

Third, carpe diem means to use time wisely.Appreciate and be frugal with time.Appreciate and squeeze every minute out of every hour.

Promise yourself to value time.Pledge to turn over a new leaf.Get organized and be more efficient.

Do important things first.Do what needs to be done.Dont ever hesitate or put things off.

Fourth, carpe diem means dont waste time.To do nothing is a crime. To procrastinate or be passive is a sin.

One must live, not exist! One must do,not merely be!One must improve, not just remain the same.

Life is way too short.Live like there is no tomorrow.Try to experience as much as you can.

In conclusion, just do it!Do it all!Do it now! Only today is worth two tomorrows. Its always later than you think. Its now or never to be all you can do.

If you love life, think carpe diem.Seize the moment or it may be gone forever. You only live once, but if you do it right, once is enough!

  Research experience and academic activity

When a sophomore,I joined the Association of AI Enthusiast and began to narrow down my interest for my future research. With the tool of OpenGL and Matlab,I designed a simulationprogram for transportation scheduling system. It is now widely used by different research groups in NUST. I assumed and fulfilled a sewage analysis & dispose project for Nanjing sewagetreatment plant. This was my first practice to convert a laboratory idea to a commercial product.

In retrospect,I find myself standing on a solid basis in both theory and experience, which has prepared me for the Ph.D. program. My future research interests include:Network Scheduling Problem,Heuristic Algorithm research(especially in GA and Neural network),Supply chain network research,Hybrid system performance analysis with Petri nets and Data Mining.

Thank you very much for your attention。

Ladies and Gentlemen , Good afternoon! I'm very glad to stand here and give you a short speech. today my topic is “youth”。 I hope you will like it , and found the importance in your youth so that more cherish it.

First I want to ask you some questions:

1、 Do you know what is youth?

2、 How do you master your youth?

  Youth

Youth is not a time of life, it is a state of mind ; it is not rosy cheeks , red lips and supple knees, it is a matter of the emotions : it is the freshne; it is the freshneof the deep springs of life .

Youth means a temperamental predominance of courage over timidity of the appetite , for adventure over the love of ease. This often exists in a man of 60 more than a boy of 20 . Nobody grows old merely by a number of years . We grow old by deserting our ideals.

Years wrinkle the skin , but to give up enthusiasm wrinkles the soul . Worry , fear , self –distrust bows the heart and turns the spirit back to dust .

Whether 60 of 16 , there is in every human being 's heart the lure of wonders, the unfailing childlike appetite of what's next and the joy of the game of living . In the center of your heart and my heart there's a wirelestation : so long as it receives messages of beauty , hope ,cheer, courage and power from men and from the infinite, so long as you are young .

When the aerials are down , and your spirit is covered with snows of cynicism and the ice of pessimism, then you are grown old ,even at 20 , but as long as your aerials are up ,to catch waves of optimism , there is hope you may die young at 80.

  Thank you!

  Ladies and gentlemen,

Good afternoon !Today the topic of my speech is “Discover myself”

I think each people is unique.Everyone is different .

I don’t need to envy others, because I think I am the only one in the world.

So do u really know yourself?

In my parents’ eyes,I am a naughty boy. In my friends’ eyes, I am a friendly boy.In my teachers’ eyes,I am a boy which progresses.

But how do I think of myself?

  I don’t know.

Everone has merits and shortcomings. we need to discover our disadvantages and get rid of it . However, Lookers-on see most often. So mentors are necessary.

In elementary school, I didn’t know the importance of studying.I just know playing all day.One day my english teacher told me(that)she thought I was a intelligent boy.I was shocked by what she said.I didn’t do well in my english subject at that time.I was encouraged by what she said.In other words, what she said made me exicted.Since then,I fell in love with English.I started to read some English novels and listen to music. My english teacher taught me patiently and encouraged me to insist on doing these.I was interested in english.I found it was easy to learn english. It does’t like I thought it would be difficult.Maybe I had talent in learning english. However,if I don’t listen to my english teacher.Maybe I would get lost.

Everybody should have confidence in discovering yourselves, although it is a difficult journey. When there is a will, there is a way.

A New Head Teachers Address to His ClassMy dear fellow boys and girls, my friends, When I stand before the teachers desk, or, I would rather say when I stand on the stage, it seems to me that the purple curtains of both sides are drawing open gently.

And on this occasion a play full of vigor is on its way.

To my extreme happiness, you all, Class Two of Senior Grade One will perform the play who, I think, will be loyal to your performers each.

The play may be one of the longest plays in the world, because it will last three years till your whole period of senior grade.

Because of all these, I would like to be a warm-hearted announcer.

I would like to take the opportunity to declare that the play by Class Two Senior Grade One begins.

Above all, I think, as a head teacher of your class, I should be a well-qualified director.

I am eager to direct plays full with modern atmosphere.

The key tune will be unity, intentness, earnestness and liveliness.

The main contents will be comprehension, friendship and love each other, pioneering and creativity.

The main story will be the love of collective and collective of love.

As a director, I will carefully design attractive plots, typical characters and striking stories for all of you.

Now today every one of you present shows us your own brilliance as you can.

  The stage belongs to you.

Of course you are the leading roles.

I will be willing to be a supporting actor and try what I can to serve you all.

I will share the enjoyment of your success silently.

Moreover, I will be willing to be a pious audience who would like to smile, tear, and applause for your wonderful performances.

What an unforgettable period of your life you have in the class! After three years when our curtains of the class close, I would like to hear your remark on my work; , you are our qualified director as well as a very good supporting actor, and you are still the audience we all like.

  Thank you for your applause.

From you applause I can see your comprehension and support, although the curtain just begins.

Let me wish to have our smooth and successful cooperation!

I’m very glad to make a speech here. Today my topic is “I love you, China.”

Since the day I municate forting the bottom of her heart! then, there came the gentle voice of hers: no, no, no… her head shaking, mon in Northes, the etimes clouds of dust blur the vision, and little kids cannot find their ways. It’s like the end of the world.

we know it is Mother Nature’s revenge on what we have done to her. In order to see blue sky and sunny spring again, we should plant more trees and more grass to protect the environment. And it is not too late if we start right now.

Though it’s a hard job to fight against the sandstorm, it is the battle we must fight, and it is a battle we must win!

  Thank you!

They say that when you die your life flashes before your eyes。 Will you see any-thing other than a small black box in the corner of your room? What have you changed in th world? What will you leave behind?

Or maybe you are surrounded by people all the time。duanwenw。 You are the center of attention and everybody loves you。 You go out with your friends, partying and having fun, but what about in the morning? You wake up with a severe headache and an upset stomach。 What about your death? Do you think it was time to go?

You could be the exact opposite。 You may want pany, but for whatever reason not have it。 Maybe you’re scared or shy。 You go home, lock yourself in your room, and sink into anger。

Are you an adventurer? Will your love of adventure lead to your end? You can never be quite sure when your heart and spirit will be broken。 All your adventures will one day be forgotten and it will all have been for nothing。

Or maybe you played it safe your entire life。 You outlived all those others, but what for? You never did anything great; you never made anything of yourself。 You’re alone in all your security, but that worth it? You just took up space on th earth。

They say that when you die, your life flashes before your eyes。 What will you see?

Since the quality of honesty applies to all behaviors, one cannot refuse to consider factual information, for example, in an unbiased manner and still claim that one's knowledge, belief or position is an attempt to be truthful. Such a belie

f is clearly a product of one's desires and simply has nothing to do with the human ability to know. Basing one's positions on what one wants — rather than unbiased evidence gathering — is dishonest even when good intentions can be cited — after all even Hitler could cite good intentions and intended glory for a select group of people. Clearly then, an unbiased approach to the truth is a requirement of honesty.

Because intentions are closely related to fairness and certainly affect the degree of honesty/dishonesty, there is a wide spread confusion about honesty--and a general belief that being dishonest means that one ALWAYS correctly understands if their behavior is either honest or dishonest. Self-perception of our morality is non-static and volatile.

It's often at the moment we refuse to consider other perspectives that there is a clear indication we are not pursuing the truth, rather than simply and exclusively at the moment we can muster up evidence that we are right. Socrates had much to say about truth, honesty and morality, and explained that if people really understood that their behavior was wrong — then they simply wouldn't do it — by definition.

Unfortunately, honesty in the western tradition has been marginalized to specific instances — perhaps because a thorough understanding of honesty collides with ideologies of all types. Ideologies and idealism often exaggerate and suppress evidence in order to support their perspectives — at the eXPense of the truth.

This process erodes the practice and understanding of honesty. To an ideologist the truth quite often becomes insignificant, what matters most are their ideals and what ever supports their desires to enjoy and spread those ideals.

Human beings are inherently biased about what they believe to be good due to individual tastes & backgrounds, but once one understands that a decidedly biased approach to what is true — is inherently dishonest, one can also understand how idealism and ideology have poorly served the quest for an honest, moral society. Both honesty and morality require that we base our opinions about what is good — upon unbiased ideas of what is TRUE — rather than vice versa (determining what is true based on what we feel is good) — the way all ideologies would have us believe.
